It has been a challenging time during the lockdown period. We pride ourselves at Berrington Lodge Nursery for looking after our children's wellbeing.
We are giving every child a personalised pack of wild flower seeds to plant and nurture to remind them of their happy and stimulating time they spend in nursery.
At Berrington Lodge Nursery, we constantly strive to be the very best we can be. We believe all children have unlimited learning potential and are eager to interact with and contribute to the world around them
Promoting children’s curiosity and imagination is incredibly important. We help children to take responsibility for their learning in a nurturing environment where they are cared for and valued.
Diversity is valued and everyone is treated with respect, fairness and dignity. We foster a strong sense of community in which there is care and respect amongst children, parents, and staff
Outdoor play is highly valued and prioritised as an integral part of the exciting educational programme at Berrington Lodge Nursery. During outdoor play, practitioners encourage and support children’s problem-solving skills and nurture their creativity, as well as providing rich opportunities for their developing imagination, inventiveness and resourcefulness.
We believe that there is no such thing as bad weather – only inappropriate clothing. Learning that flows seamlessly between indoors and outdoors makes the most efficient use of resources and builds on children’s interests, enthusiasm and exploration.
We offer our children an enriched learning environment. We encourage our children’s learning through exploration and interaction with their key worker, people, the natural environment and local community.
We take pride in exploring our city, we will often go on short walks or spend time at the local park and visiting different placed which our beautiful city has to offer such as at the local library, village, shops and police station.
We take every opportunity to talk about and demonstrate healthy choices and to encourage children to eat well and learn about food. We supply children with heathy snacks; fruit; yogurt; vegetables and drinks.

We believe children should have the opportunity to eat healthier as food plays a key role in their development. Making sure they get the right minerals and vitamins in their meals will help them grow and develop optimally, whilst energising and supporting their ability to learn.
Our menu plans offer Lunch & Dessert and Afternoon Teas, to ensure children's are well fueled throughout the day. Menus are based on a 3 week cycle which changes throughout the seasons to provide seasonal change of ingredients within each meal plan.
We recently teamed up with Black Country Consortium and Ryder’s Hayes Training to produce “Primary careers 2030” which looks at careers that will exist in the next decade.
In this video “Health and Social Care” it showcases Berrington Lodge Nursery, the nursery's rooms, outdoor areas and introduces you to its wonderful staff.
I used to drop my niece off at Berrington Lodge nursery and had always been impressed with how welcoming the nursery team were. My niece also spoke very highly of the staff and loved going.
Over the summer holidays I decided that I wanted to send my own little boy Jamie somewhere for one day a week to prepare him to start school in September and chose here. I can not explain how happy I am that I did! I was so nervous to leave him as he had never been left before but I didn’t need to worry as Jamie settled in really really well from the very first moment. He asked me to go to nursery every single day and never wanted me to pick him up early! The staff were really good with me worrying too and reassured me throughout the day that he was having a great day!
The resources are brilliant, the daily activities are fun and challenging and the staff are so friendly and approachable! Jamie has a fab imagination and when he showed an interest in the film Moana they spent a whole day extending his play by drawing maps and using compass’s to go on Moana themed adventures!
A special mention to both Tracey and Pav for being so fab at what they do! Thank you for taking such good care of my little boy, I will be recommending you to anyone who asks :)
